movie night and new arrivals!

We have an annual "movie night" with Mick and Bev - last year was at their place, this year at ours.....outside in the cool(er) evening air by the pool - and in the pool......LOL

We had a great spaghetti dinner first and then moved to the back courtyard to watch the movie - moved the computer and TV outside and it was lovely....even Botas got into the act.......

Daf and Miki cuddle up during the movie.........

Ooooops - I think Mick fell asleep with all that wine and rum........maybe Botas will kiss his toes to wake him up.........

And Saturday night Rebecca and Tony arrived from Vancouver.....happy to be back in the heat and in their condo at Bucaneros!!!

After Miki got off at the bookstore we all headed to Cantina Habarnero for a great burger and welcoming drink!! Happy to see you two back!!!!

More spaying/neutering......!!

Our friend Dinah, who is the gal who organized the last clinic here - and the next one this month - gave me 5 new traps. I was able to trap 4 cats - 2 males, 2 females (both of whom turned out to be pregnant) and they all went to Giellermo (known as Memo) for their operations. Here they all come home again at the end of the day..........

Vet Memo is a lovely guy, and very involved in the Spay Mexico clinics - here he is working on Whiskers......who is a very wild cat and gave Memo a run for his money just getting him anaesthetized........!

3 of the patients already done, waiting to go home.

This is one of Memo's own pets - a very sweet friendly boy with tiny ears....me - "why are his ears so small?" - Memo - "someone found him and brought him here and some idiot had cut his ears off....." so he became a family pet after his recovery. Some people......:-(

and here they are in the "recovery room" for the night - our shower stall. All covered so they stay warm, separated from each other - they are all feral - and calm, while they sleep off their medications. Next morning they were back outside and all are happily eating at our feeding station every day. Cats don't hold grudges.....:-) One cat can produce 300 kittens in their lifetime, so we have drastically reduced the population again. Stay tuned - another clinic on the 18th!!!
