Kids leave and the party begins....!

So this was a truly Mexican thing......in 1979 Pope John Paul came to visit Mexico. It was a BIG deal for this Catholic country. Anyway, for some reason they dusted off the "Pope mobile" he rode in and paraded it around town. All the locals turned out, and the one priest on board blessed everyone who cheered wildly along the parade route. What a hoot.....!

The pope mobile made us late, but we joined our gang and had a great night at ......where else.......David Lau's, to watch the Men in Blues!!!! This was the night the Men were being videod and taping their new CD, so everyone was in full voice and appreciation for the great music.

It was our usual gang of great friends........

including Lynn and John newly arrived from Collingwood Ontario for the week.........

And we all danced and had a great time being the sound and fury behind the Men. Can't wait to hear the new CD!!!!!!

Last night in PM

Off to dinner at El Faro.....a lovely meal in the cool breeze off the ocean.............good food, laughs and fun..........

After dinner Drew, Miki and the kids played pool........

Then the kids had to climb on the Mayan "ruin" water feature in the park........

Yah - see that little face in the hole......???? We have had a wonderful week with the family - will miss you but look forward to seeing you in the summer months.....!!

Wet and Wild.....well named!

Great water park on the hotel zone gave us a whole day of fun, food and memories....... Kids (and adults) rode all the wild scary rides, like this one.......

The water town was endless fun.................

The lazy river was so great..........we all just kept going around and around.......

The wave pool was exciting for the kids, and they road on bumper boats for a long time too.......

the Nanas, Jutta and Andrew had fun relaxing, enjoying the sun and spending time with our wonderful kids and grand kids.

Xel Ha.....ha!!!

Xel Ha was great fun - we rode an inner tube down a river, snorkelled in the warm waters, and even had a great lunch at one of the big restaurants.......all inclusive. Xel Ha is one of the big eco parks in the area, where ecology is preserved and respected.

There were iguanas, parrots, even a tucan waiting for a photo op........

The moving walkway across the water was fun.....like an amusement ride.....

We all went swimming in the cenote cave......a great experience........and enjoyed our day in the water and with all the colourful fish!

Kids at the Crococun

One of the places we took them 2 years ago they just loved and wanted to go again....so this time the whole family went!

Of course, there were lots of these guys, there.....little ones, big ones, and it is a breeding program and rescue place for crocs that wind up in some unlikely place. Usually once a year a croc will wander out on a road so it is scooped up and ends up here.

There was a parrot place with friendly talking parrots.......

Here is a baby croc showing us his teeth...........

The iguanas were wonderful - many colours and sizes......

There were white tailed deer, monkeys, wild hairless Mexican dogs, every imaginable reptile you could think of and of course a playground, so we all had a great time.

test blog....

So many things to put on the blog, but tonight is the first game of the NHL playoffs, so here we were, out on the patio with our chaises and margaritas, enjoying the Canucks beat Chicago in the first game of the playoffs. GO CANUCKS!

Now let's see if this posts properly........
